August 6, 2007 – A new, affordable multifunction laser hit the streets today as Canon U.S.A. released the imageCLASS MF4270. This monochrome printer prints 1200 x 600 dpi text at 21 pages per minute (ppm). True to its name, the 4270 also features copy, scan, and fax functions. This compact office desktop retails for $299 and will be available in September 2007.

Canon is responsibly stressing the environmental benefit of this affordable laser printer with duplexing capabilities. Consumers can save paper by printing, copying, and faxing on both sides of a single sheet of paper. The 35-page auto document feeder (ADF) makes operation easy. A standard, 250-page print tray sits neatly out of the way at the bottom of the printer, from which users can print and copy up to legal-sized (8.5-by-14-inch) documents. Users will be able to scan in 24-bit color at a maximum interpolated resolution of 9600 dpi via the scanner platen directly or through the ADF. The imageCLASS MF4270’s fax function features a 33.6 Kbps G3 modem, 256-page memory capacity, 8 one-touch speed dial number keys, and 100 coded speed-dial numbers. PC faxing and two sided output is also possible. High-speed USB 2.0 and 10/100 T base Ethernet connectivity simplifies office workflow. The single black toner cartridge is combined in one unit with the drum for easy replacement of both consumables. This printer is expected to be released in September at Canon retailers for $299.
