May 7, 2007 – *Canon announced today the release in Europe of two new dye sublimation printers in their popular Selphy line. The CP740 and the CP750 replace the CP720 and the CP730, respectively. New features include increased editing options and larger LCD sizes. The CP740 sports a 2.0-inch LCD (the size of the CP730 display) and the CP750 ups the ante for the whole line with a 2.4-inch LCD. Both printers will be available this month. The CP740 will retail at £79 and the CP750 at £139. Like their predecessors, the new Selphy printers feature print from PC, print from memory card, PictBridge capabilities, and Bluetooth compatibility with an optional adapter. New features on both models include automatic Red-Eye correction, improved skin tone reproduction, and new large icons for user interface.  The CP750 has increased editing capabilities. The "My Colors" option features black-and-white and sepia effects. Also featured is in-printer image trimming (cropping) and a "Positive Film" option, which gives images the look of slide film. The 750 also features IrDA and new IrSimple high-speed transfer. Users can also purchase an optional battery for full portability.
