May 23, 2007 – OfficeMax, one of the nation’s largest office supply chain, expanded their printing services with the addition of Canon’s imagePROGRAF wide format printers at their in-store printing service, OfficeMax ImPress. Customers will now be able to order poster-sized prints. In addition, OfficeMax is offering a promotion that includes a coupon for a 24 by 36-inch print when customers purchase a digital camera from the store. This relationship between OfficeMax and Canon began last year in a trial run of these services. The imagePROGRAF W6400 was installed at 500 OfficeMax locations. This May the company is expanding that number to 900. For small business owners who are not ready or able to make the investment in a wide-format printer for their printing needs, this service provides them with an option for printing large posters, banners, and charts. The W6400 features a six pigment ink system with a 7,680-nozzle print head. This and the 2400 x 1200 dpi print resolution should make for high quality prints. Canon’s PosterArtist software will be installed on the OfficeMax ImPress’s computers to allow customers to easily create posters and signage. The software features 200 templates and a library of royalty free images. OfficeMax is promoting this new service this month, National Photo Month, with a coupon for a free 24-by-36-inch poster print (normally $29.99) when customers purchase any digital camera from OfficeMax. This offer runs through May 31, 2007.
